Clay Hunter Trail: Available Wednesday, Thursday & Friday
UTV’s OK!
Difficulty: Intermediate – 85 Miles
Ranch lands and trails of old trappers like Clay Hunter make this historic trail so interesting. See old cattle dipping tanks, water tanks, springs, even a rock with Clay Hunter’s signature! This ride leaves from the rodeo grounds, heading west and traveling through grass lands and rolling hills changing to juniper and pinion-pine and then to the cool Ponderosa pines and aspen, making a large loop around Green’s Peak, then back through the grass lands. Elevation changes from 7,000 feet to over 9,500 feet. The ride will take about 8 hours to complete so pack a lunch, extra gas, rain gear and don’t forget your camera.
